Rnation was an active website in the late 90’s early 2000.
We started off as an Internet Radio Station. The R stands for Radio. The initial goal was to be a full service music platform. We would have Hip Hop shows, R&B, Dance, Jazz and a Sports Talk show.
We then ventured off into TV with the intention of launching a series of TV shows that mirrored what we were doing on our internet radio station. The first show out of the gate was the Rnation Hip Hop Encounter. Despite not knowing what we were doing the Hip Hop Encounter was a great success. We were a late night TV show and our ratings were great, but we never were able to find a sponsor to help with the cost of producing a weekly 60 minute TV show. So after shooting 75 one hour episodes (I’ll get the exact number at a later time) we had to shut it down.
If we had started the same venture today we could have easily monetized the show via youtube etc and made enough money to keep the doors open and continue to grow.
It’s my intention to post all episodes of the Hip Hop Encounter, we had a lot of the hot artist of that era in studio. It was a lot of fun.
I’m hoping we can do it again. I learned some great lessons, but by the time I figured out what I was doing I was out of cash.

Rnation.com was a staple in the Atlanta music scene as it went above and beyond to showcase local, regional and national acts. Special shout out to Veston and Cap for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it. Reach out to me if you are looking to get it back off the ground. –Jay$
